“A soulful, must-see masterpiece, one of the most exhilarating film experiences so far this century.”
— New York Post
KPAC presents INTERSTELLAR as part of the Science on Screen® series. The series will feature classic, cult and documentary films with introductions by notable figures from the world of science, technology, and medicine. When Earth becomes uninhabitable in the future, a farmer and ex-NASA pilot, Joseph Cooper, is tasked to pilot a spacecraft, along with a team of researchers, to find a new planet for humans. Interstellar represents more of the thrilling, thought-provoking, and visually resplendent filmmaking moviegoers have come to expect from writer-director Christopher Nolan. Sponsored by University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
A Plague on Both Your Houses! Fighting a Plague with Resilient Crops University of Idaho Department Head for Plant Sciences, Juliet Marshall, will discuss crop resilience and its relationship to the film Interstellar. Is the future predicted in the film imminent, or is it just another made-up Hollywood idea (allowing us to watch Matthew McConaughey wander through time and space)?
An initiative of the Coolidge Corner Theatre, with major support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
Rated: PG-13 | 2 hr 49 min | Tickets: $8 Adult or $5 Child or Film Pass
