Indigenous Peoples’ Day: Fancy Dance

Monday, October 14 at 7 PM

“A thoughtful, affecting debut feature from Tremblay that puts a necessary spotlight on Indigenous peoples — featuring another exceptional performance from Lily Gladstone.”
— Amon Warmann, Empire Magazine
KPAC presents a special screening of FANCY DANCE on Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Following her sister’s disappearance, a Native American hustler kidnaps her niece from the child’s white grandparents and sets out for the state powwow in hopes of keeping what is left of their family intact. An urgent drama grounded in its observant depiction of reservation life, Fancy Dance establishes director/co-writer Erica Tremblay as a rising filmmaking talent.
Sponsored by University of Idaho Native American Student Center, University of Idaho LGBTQA Office and University of Idaho Black and African American Cultural Center. The Native American Student Center will be selling Indian Tacos at the screening!
