KINO Film Festival: Featured Film & Trailblazer Award Presentation

KINO Film Festival presents FEATURED FILM & TRAILBLAZER AWARD PRESENTATION. Join us to celebrate the work of Megan Griffiths, this year’s recipient of the Trailblazer Award, honoring contributions to filmmaking in the Pacific Northwest. Watch one of Ms. Griffiths’ recent films, followed by Q&A and the presentation of the Trailblazer Award.

The KINO Short Film Festival is pleased to present the inaugural Trailblazer Award to filmmaker Megan Griffiths. The Trailblazer Award honors individuals with roots in the Pacific Northwest who have supported filmmaking and film culture in the region.

Ms. Griffiths is an award winning filmmaker and television director. Her features include her collaboration with the Duplass Brothers, I’ll Show You Mine (2022), starring Poorna Jagannathan and Casey Thomas Brown; Sadie (2018), starring Melanie Lynskey, Sophia Mitri Schloss, and Tony Hale; The Night Stalker (2016), starring Lou Diamond Phillips as serial killer Richard Ramirez; Lucky Them (2013), starring Toni Collette, Thomas Haden Church and Johnny Depp; and Eden (2012), which won the the Emergent Narrative Director Award and the Audience Award for Narrative Feature at SXSW that year. She has also directed shows for HBO, EPIX, TNT, Hulu, USA, Fox, Netflix, and was the producing director for season two of Amazon’s The Summer I Turned Pretty.

This year’s Trailblazer Award is supported by the Jama Sebald Feminist Visionary Fund, with additional support from the University of Idaho College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences, English Department, and History Department.
