“Brilliantly visualized by director Forman and performed by an ensemble with Jack Nicholson and Louise Fletcher up front, the film operates continuously at a peak level of energy and intelligence.

KPAC and BookPeople presents ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST as part of our new Movie Book Club series.  In the Fall of 1963, a Korean War veteran and criminal pleads insanity and is admitted to a mental institution, where he rallies up the scared patients against the tyrannical nurse. Jack Nicholson and Louise Fletcher are worthy adversaries in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, with Miloš Forman’s more grounded and morally ambiguous approach to Ken Kesey’s surrealistic novel yielding a film of outsized power.
Each book purchased at BookPeople will include a free ticket to see the film at the Kenworthy Theatre. Plus, get 20% off the book if you see the film and then decide to read the book afterward!
