“Queer doesn’t scrimp on provocation and pleasure, but it’s also a beautiful film about male loneliness, and the way a solitary life can so easily shade into a life sentence.”
— Robbie Collin, Daily Telegraph (UK)
KPAC presents Luca Guadagnino’s new film, QUEER, based on William S. Burroughs’ novella of the same name. Set in 1950s Mexico City, the story follows an American immigrant in his late forties who leads a solitary life amidst a small American community. However, the arrival of a young student stirs the man to finally establish a meaningful connection with someone. A phantasmagorical distillation of William S. Burroughs’ preoccupations, Queer marks one of Daniel Craig’s most sterling performances to date.
